Sandra Lord, MD, is Director of the Clinical Research Center (CRC) at Benaroya Research Institute, where she oversees the infrastructure and operations that support clinical studies spanning autoimmune diseases and other areas of medicine. As a physician-scientist and clinical investigator, she works closely with investigators, sponsors and research teams to conduct high-quality clinical trials that advance new therapies and improve patient care.
Dr. Lord also serves as Co-Principal Investigator of the BRI Diabetes TrialNet Clinical Center, leading the execution of national and international studies focused on the prediction, prevention and early treatment of type 1 diabetes. Through this work, she has helped bring innovative prevention strategies and disease-modifying therapies to individuals at risk for or living with T1D while contributing to landmark discoveries that are changing the course of the disease.

Dr. Lord received her MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1996 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle in 1999.
