Welcome to Our Blog
We started this blog to bring more awareness and understanding of autoimmune disease, which is so common, yet often so misunderstood. According to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association, only 13 percent of Americans can name one autoimmune disease! We saw the need for an expert resource to counter this lack of understanding.
The purpose of this blog is to build a community for people living with these lifelong, chronic diseases, their families and friends who love and support them, as well as anyone interested in learning more about these complex conditions.
We will bring you the voices of people living with or caring for those with these diseases, as well as the researchers and clinicians fighting for cures day in and day out. As leaders in this fight, we’ll provide regular research updates and developments led by BRI and our partner organizations that show progress in the fight against autoimmune disease from the lab, to the clinic, and ultimately to treatments and cures for patients.
