Lucy Li
Lucy earned her BA in Biochemistry and Biophysics and her MS in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 and continued to work in her undergraduate lab at Penn on CAR T cell therapies targeting medullary thyroid cancer and pathological B cells associated with Hemophilia A patients with FVIII inhibitors. Because of her interest in translational research and medicine, Lucy is now a MSTP student at the University of Washington. After finishing up her first two pre-clinical years of medical school, she joined the MCB program as a graduate student in Jessica Hamerman’s lab looking into the mechanisms of TLR7/9 signaling in plasmacytoid dendritic cells and looking to better understand the pathogenic role of patrolling monocytes in lupus nephritis for the eventual goal of developing novel therapeutics for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). In her free time, Lucy likes to cook, get to know the Seattle food/restaurant scene, and explore various parks around Seattle.
