David Jeong, MD
Background Information
Dr. David Jeong is the section head of the Department of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He is a research investigator at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) and clinical professor at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital. Prior to his current positions, he practiced at the Institute for Asthma and Allergy in the Washington DC Metro area. He completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and his medical education at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, IA. After an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, he completed an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle, WA.
Area Of Research
Dr. Jeong's research involves the use of MHC class II tetramers for T cell epitope mapping in food allergies. He oversees the food immunotherapy research program at BRI. He is the Director of the Virginia Mason Medical Center site in the FARE Clinical Network Centers of Excellence. He is also on the advisory board for the Seattle Food Allergy Consortium, a collaboration of several major organizations devoting resources to food allergy research.
